Reporting to the Director of QA/QC, Regulatory, & Compliance, the Export Regulatory Manager will provide oversight of all required documentation related to export, ensuring compliance with all relevant customs regulations.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  • Sound working knowledge of APHIS USDA export regulations. An understanding of EU, Australia, Korea, Israel, Taiwan, Canada, Mexico, and South America regulations are highly beneficial.
  • Manages regulatory documentation for export: Health Certificate, Phytosanitary Certificate, manufacture declarations, i.e) for product exports.
  • Manage APHIS USDA import permits as required, and work in liaison with customers to ensure pertinent documents are submitted.
  • Experience assigning HTS codes and completing Country of Origin determination.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Marketing to ensure that exporting products comply with GFSI/HACCP/Customs regulations and standards.
  • Interface with related functional areas such as purchasing, customer service, sales, and the logistic team on customs matters and coordinate education for personnel in these areas, as needed.
  • Manage IREGs export documents for approved and future exporting countries on file.
  • Facilitate regulatory management on annual export inspection to sustain approval status. Work closely with procurement, APHIS USDA Veterinarian, foreign government officials, and sales to secure pertinent documentation for export.
  • Ensure that foreign suppliers conduct required inspections that comply with USDA-APHIS for export.
  • Meet required tasks specified by the manager.

IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a science, engineering, or related technical field
  • HACCP certification required, PCQI preferred
  • FSVP certification
  • CTPAT and Custom regulations knowledge preferred
  • Incoterms and Harmonized Classification trained.
  • Working knowledge of FDA and State laws related Pet Food or human food products storage, handling, and distribution
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously and manage time appropriately
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Accurate recordkeeping & reporting skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and office equipment such as photocopier and scanner
