Your Job

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead design and project engineering efforts for facilities projects at Georgia-Pacific's Toledo Containerboard Mill in Oregon. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing efficient and reliable mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.


Our Team

This role is part of the engineering department at the Toledo mill and would be serve as an onsite lead for mechanical design associated with non-production related equipment and structures. Toledo is located in coastal Oregon, 10 minutes from the beach town of Newport, Oregon and roughly 45 minutes from Corvallis, OR (home of Oregon State University).


What You Will Do

  • Assess and design basic building mechanical (ie piping) components for a fully integrated manufacturing facility; will also collaborate with structural engineering for related structural assessments
  • Developing accurate investment proposals for capital and major maintenance ventures
  • Developing and managing the project scope, schedule, estimate, and risk management plan
  • Managing projects requiring coordination between outside consultants, contractors, and mill personnel
  • Participate in the development and execution of capital and major maintenance projects based on management direction and departmental input

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study
  • Three or more years of experience in mechanical design and/or project engineering
  • Experience with facilities (structures) related projects


What Will Put You Ahead

  • P.E. license
  • Five or more years of experience as a mechanical design engineer, project engineer, or project manager
  • Experience with developing accurate investment proposals for capital and major maintenance ventures
