THE POSITION

Washington County's Department of Facilities, Fleet, and Parks is looking for an experienced Facilities Operations Supervisor to join our Operations Leadership Team who collectively lead their team to create safe, welcoming, and comfortable public spaces to serve the diverse staff, citizens, and visitors of Washington County. The Facilities Division takes great pride in the planning, construction, maintenance, and repair of nearly 45 County-owned buildings (over 1.8 million square feet), grounds, parks, and associated hardscape.

The Facilities Operations Supervisor oversees the general maintenance crew, including staff assigned at the Washington County Jail and oversees staff from entry level to journey-level Facilities Maintenance Technicians. The main duties of this supervisory role are:

  • budget management
  • contract administration
  • work order assignment to technicians
  • material and equipment approvals to complete work order tasks
  • schedule preventative maintenance equipment servicing with contractors
  • assist Capital projects in tenant improvements and provide general feedback
  • mentor staff
  • assist apprentice-level staff with work that accumulates hours towards their license requirements
  • assist apprentice-level staff in obtaining trainings and safety classes in order to maintain the standard practice of the Facilities trade, including safe working conditions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • A high school diploma/GED AND Six (6) years of advanced journey level experience in a building trade and increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial, industrial, or other large building plants and which includes a minimum of two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience. OR
  • An Associate degree AND Four (4) years of advanced journey level experience in a building trade and increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial, industrial, or other large building plants and which includes a minimum of two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience.

Other Requirements
  • Some positions may be required to possess a driver license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record per Washington County policy. To review Washington County's Driver's License and Record Policy: Driver's License & Records Policy (Vehicles - Section 800).
  • Must pass a Washington County Sheriff's Office criminal Background check and maintain access to all spaces.
  • May be required to report to work during off-duty hours for emergency situations.

  7. Start Date: A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.
