Schedule: Monday through Friday, Dayshift

MISSION:

Develops, coordinates and maintains systems to effectively measure financial and operational performance. Responsible for managing balance sheet areas including Inventory, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Leases, etc. Assists Controller in maintaining a strong control environment for financial processes. Involvement with wide range of functional areas within the Company. Reports to Plant Controller.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Inventory management and valuation: set and periodically change standards and charging rates. Refines and maintains the integrity of the plant's Inventory by verifying the accuracy of production and stores inventory while maintaining clean cut offs for month, quarter and year end. Work in coordination with production control for cycle counts and physical inventories. Prepares monthly and quarterly financial analysis and status reports of on-going business activities, e.g., operating performance vs. budget, status of major spending activities.
  • Month, quarter and year end closes along with analysis and reconciliations. Manage finance team through month-end close process within deadlines.
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile GL accounts including but not limited to accounts payables, accounts receivables, cash, pre-paid, fixed assets, leases, and accrued liabilities.
  • Work with internal and external auditors for Financial and SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) reviews and improvements. Provide leadership to strengthen internal control environment and coordinate plant SOX program under guidance from Controller.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of company financial statements and statistical reporting, including journal entries, quarterly financial package, quarterly sales reporting, etc.
  • Exercise strong leadership skills including communications and teamwork between finance, operating groups, division and corporate staff.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports (will have 1-2 direct reports). Manage their daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly task list and support team members in achieving timely and effective outcomes.
  • Partner with the General Manager, Plant Controller and other members of the leadership team; provide advice and counsel on a wide range of issues facing the business.
  • Support and assist the budget generation process.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will work very closely with plant operations, maintenance, continuous improvement, and engineering to help these departments continue to reduce costs as new requirements and reports are needed.
  • Perform special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • CPA or MBA preferred. BS/BA - Accounting or Finance with 5 to 10 years of experience in similar job function.
  • US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge is required. Track record of improving internal controls highly valued.
  • Ability to think and work independently. Must have a thorough knowledge of financial and quantitative analysis techniques, management accounting, cost accounting, management information systems, and microcomputers. Strong communication skills, particularly in presenting financial information to management.
